Meeting In New Orleans The Police Jury Association of Louisiana will hold its annual convention in New Orleans March 28. 29 and 30 at the Marriott Hotel Association President Manning Broussard announced today Aaron Cart, president of the Acadia Parish Police Jury reported Monday that all members of the parish body are planning to attend. Over 1500 delegates including both veteran and newly elected jurors are expected to attend the conclave.

Registration will begin Sunday, March 28 at 11:00 a.m on the second floor of the hotel Highlighting Sunday's activities will be a reception sponsored by Orleans Parish: a dance will follow. Sunday afternoon the Executive Board and interim committees of the Police Jury Association will meet. Some of the speakers at the committee meetings include Bentley Mackay. chairman of the Governor's Council on Environmental Quality, who will speak to members of the Pollution and Litter Prevention committees in a joint session. Other speakers include J.

Burton Angelle, director of the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries, who will give an overview of the 'state's programs in that area. U.S Congressman John Breaux will be the keynote speaker at the first general business session Monday morning. Other speakers include E.L. "Bubba" Henry, speaker of the Louisiana House of Representatives: Rep. Richard Baker and Legislative auditor Joe Burris.

Moon Landrieu, mayor of New Orleans, will wel ome delegates to the convention. Governor Edwin Edwards will address the convention at the traditional Governor's Luncheon at Ballroom A-H of the Marriott at 12:00 noon Monday The second general business session begins at 2 (0) p.m Monday Business on the agenda includes action on several resolutions passed at Police Jury Region meetings held recently throughout the state. as well as the election of officers and committee reports. Clarence Junot and was a most delicious "dessert' following the buffet. Commander Thibodeaux and Mrs. Bourque, Auxiliary president, presided at the ceremony of cutting the cake. Grace before meals was given by Mrs. Olive Petitjean, after which a wonderful buffet supper was served, Auxiliary members providing a number of tempting special dishes, and Curtis Pellerin, Leroy Prejean and "Coon" Richard serving as cooks for beef roast, and other accessories.

Following the supper, Paul Marx and his band from Crowley provided the music for dancing to continue the birthday celebration for the remainder of a most enjoyable evening another very successful event in the long history of Arceneaux Post. Mrs Morgan died at the Ravne Branch Hospital at 5 45 pm Sunday tollowing a briet illness Born in the Lank Community of Acadia Parish, she was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. Ben Link Her four brothers preceded her in death. these including Rodney. Clyde, Wallace and DeWitt Link.

She was the only daughter She and Mr. Morgan were married almost 50 years ago, and first came to Rayne to make their home. For a few vears they resided at Intracostal City, but returned to Rayne some 40 years ago. and had since made their home here. She and Mr.

Morgan operated a garage and service station on the corner of North Polk and Stadium Drive, and through the vears. students attending Rayne High School became their close friends as they enjoyed visits with this interesting couple. She had been a member of Charity Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. for over 50 years. and one of the many beautiful floral tributes which filled the chapel of the Funeral Home for the Tuesday services was the Star emblem of the order done In appropriate flower arrangement.

She was a constant and loved companion to her husband, a dear mother to her son, and treasured by her grandchildren, whom she enjoyed thoroughly. And to others of her family, and her many friends, she was a cherished member. We had the privilege, through the years, of knowing her as a neighbor in the truest sense of the word. a and we are one of many who will miss her in the days ahead. Our sincerest sympathy goes to those who have lost such a loved family member.

She is survived by her husband, Herman F. "Dago" Morgan of Rayne; one son, Freddie "Bully" Morgan of Rayne, a dear daughter-in-law, Mrs. Freddie (Carolyn) Morgan; and five grandchildren. YMBCa.m. to 1 p.m.

In 1965. Vincent P. Daigle was elected president, heading the Bank until his death. when Norris Breaux was named as his successor. Through those 50 years, the Bank of Commerce weathered the Great Depression period.
