Alton Trahan presiding at the groom's cake; and Mrs. Otis Breaux and Mrs. Earl Leger officiating at the; punch service. For their wedding trip to. an unannounced destination, the new Mrs.

Leon chose a stunning double knit ensemble of bright orange, with becoming hat of matching shade. Her other accessories were of Natural patent, and her corsage was fashioned of yellow mums tied with yellow tulle and ribbon. They are now making their borne in Rayne where the groom is employed by E. C. Fremaux Son, Inc.

The bride graduated from Indian Bayou High School in 1961, and received her B. A. degree from University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1965. She is presently a member of the faculty at Indian Bayou High School where she is a first grade teacher. The groom is a graduate of Rayne High School receiving his diploma here in 1962.

He recently completed his service in the Army, being stationed in South Carolina for one year, then in Germany for two years. Both were in identical attire, their gowns being frosty pink linen models in full floor length, following the Empire styling of the bride's gown. Spanish crocheted lace in the same tone of pink outlined the Empire waist for a dainty accent. Their headpieces were clusters of valley lilies embossed with tiny seed pearls which held brief circular veils of imported frosty pink illusion. Each maid carried a single long-stemmed pink glamellia. Jim Falcon, cousin of the groom, served as best man, with Thomas Sonnier, the bride's brother, as groomsman, while the ushers included Raymond Leon and Weston Gau-treaux.

For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Sonnier chose a handsome two piece ensemble of Celara knit in smart tone of plum, worn with winter white accessories. Her hat was a In a beautiful double ring ceremony celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Miss Savanna Mae Sonnier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Sabrey Sonnier of Kaplan, became the bride of Harry Paul Leon, during a Nuptial Mass at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 29. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Leon of 411 Ann Drive in Rayne.

Rev. Samuel G. Jacobs, assistant pastor, officiated during the exchange of vows and rings, and was also the celebrant of the Mass. Miss Fayette Breaux as organist provided the traditional wedding Processional and Recessional, and also accompanied Miss Delphone Pomeawho was soloist for the morning service. Massive arrangements of white gladioli blooms were embanked in gold Altar yases to provide special beauty for the occasion.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose an unusual and lovely gown fashioned in imported white linen and crocheted lace, designed along the becoming Empire mode, and featuring a portrait neckline which was elegant with dainty crochet lace edg- freshment table being centered with stately white magnolias. The guest register held a smaller bouquet of red roses. Misses Sheila Meche and Sheila Cormier acted as tea girls and assisted the hostesses in serving delicious cakes, mints and punch. Aneche Meche, Yvonne Meche and Sandra Johnson. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mrs. Wilton Lantier of Rayne and the late Mr. Lantier. The prospective groom is the son of Mr.

Emery Toups and Mrs. Van Dyke Broussard of Crowley. Miss Lantier and Mr. Toups will Miss Linda Lantier of Rayne, whose marriage to Roger Toups will be an event of mid-August, was named honoree at a lovely miscellaneous shower held at the Community Center Wednesday night, July 19. Wilbert Cary, Mrs. Theo Cormier, Mrs. C. -V tered with a massive arrangement of pink stock, sweet heart roses, and leatherleaf fern, into which was placed a stately branched silver can- dlelabra holding white bridal tapers. The wedding cake was a three-tiered confection iced in white and ornamented with frosty pink confection roses.

Top tier held an effective motif of white wedding bells. Featured on the groom's ta ble was a two-layered German Chocolate cake, ornamented with white confection roses. HARRY The groom's mother was especially attractive in a blue sheath dress highlighted with decor of white imported lace. Her accessories were in white, and she used a corsage of white Butterfly roses. Honoring the young couple a reception was held at the American Legion Home following the ceremony, where beautiful floral adornment added to the hospitality interest. Members of the wedding party were joined by parents of the bride and groom in receiving the guests.
